    Starting Wednesday 3/11/2009, the CUIT Helpdesk phone support temporarily changed their hours of service.

    UPDATE: Starting 5/4/2009, CUIT Helpdesk phone support hours have largely returned to normal service hours, with the exception of Monday evenings.  Our ongoing hours of service are:

    Monday: 8am-8pm

    Tuesday-Thursday: 8am-11pm

    Friday:  8am-7pm

    Saturday:  10am-6pm

    Sunday:  3pm-11pm 

    We apologize for this inconvenience but temporary staffing gaps, while fading, continue to require us to make this necessary diversion from normal service hours.   After-hours service requests will be responded to as quickly as possible during the next business day.

    Technicans have identified electrical power problems servicing the network electronics at 506 W. 113th street. From 12:00pm to 1:00pm there may be brief disruptions in network service at this site while they address these issues.

    CUIT will be switching over several jacks on the 100, 200, and Mezzanine Levels of the Journalism Building to higher-speed ports.

    During the service window, clients connected to these jacks will experience a brief interruption in network connectivity (a few seconds) while the switchover is made.

    Several wireless access points will also be switched over within that window-- users may lose wireless connectivity for approximately 5 minutes during that interval while the wireless APs reboot.

    This maintenance window was arranged in advance with the affected end-users.

    Maintenance will be conducted on the Avery and Broadway Residence Hall wireless networks on Saturday February 28, 2009 between 8:00am and 10:00am. Users should experience an outage lasting less than 20 minutes.
