UPDATE: While we do not have official word from Google, we believe this issue to have been resolved before 5pm. If you continue to have problems with LionMail, please report them to CUIT.
UPDATE 4: at 3:45 PM. There is no delivery backlog. Google now has marked more services as disrupted, not just mail.
UPDATE 3: at 3:05 PM. Mail that was queued up during the outage is being sent now but may arrive out of order until the backlog is cleared. Also: Chat has been observed to go in and out. Google considers the disruption not yet ended.
UPDATE 2: as of 2:25 PM, users are reporting that Mail and Chat are back, both the web interface and the client interface.
UPDATE: as of 2:12 PM, Google stated "We're investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly."
Additionally, if you would like to access your LionMail calendar, you can use the URL cal.lionmail.columbia.edu.
Beginning around 2pm, LionMail Mail (and Chat) became unavailable, along with consumer Gmail and other Google Apps domains. CUIT administrators have been notified and are escalating with Google. Google is expected to post status updates here:
