UPDATE: This maintenance will be postponed. New date/time TBD.
On Wednesday, March 20th, between 5pm and 7pm, CUIT will perform maintenance of the F5 network load balancers. During this maintenance we will fail over from the primary to the standby systems. The purpose of this test is to exercise our failure plans and ensure F5 load balanced applications will gracefully transition to the backup system in the event of an unplanned failover.
We expect most services to transition to the backup load balancer with minimal client-facing disruption. Ongoing sessions of load-balanced applications and web sites could be disrupted. The disruption could be momentary, or could require that clients re-initiate sessions. There is a chance, however, that some applications will be unavailable for part of the maintenance window.
Customers who are concerned about this testing impacting their sites or applications should contact their service support teams.
Services that depend on the F5 Load Balancer and may be affected include the following:
CUIT's Wordpress infrastructure
CUIT's Drupal infrastructure and hosted sites/applications
CUIT's Lamp infrastructure and hosted sites/applications
CUIT apologizes for any inconvenience experience caused by this essential maintenance. If customers have questions about the maintenance, or if clients experience issues after the posted maintenance hours, please contact the CUIT Service Desk.
