Dear Colleagues:
As part of the construction work necessary to create a Core Research Computing Facility (NIH "G20" ARRA grant) in the University Computer Center, we are required to shut down the cooling system on SATURDAY AUGUST 18th, 2012 (6am-midnight) so that necessary construction work can be done. This will necessitate shutting down many IT systems in the Data Center.
The following services will remain available:
www.columbia.edu
Internet: Network Core, DNS, DHCP, F5, CSM load balancing
Email: Exchange 2010, CubMail (for some but not all users), LionMail, Blackberry (BES) service. Some mail will be queued for later delivery.
Telephones: Basic Rolm and NetPhone service, Interactive Intelligence
File Shares: Central
ServiceNow
Authentication & Authorization Services: Kerberos, LDAP, WIND, CAS, Shibboleth, Radius, Active Directory, Lenel Access Control
Libraries: CLIO, some electronic resources
Services not listed above will not be available. Furthermore, emergency shutdown of some or all of the above-listed services may be required should there be unforseen issues with the temporary cooling system being employed.
