All services have been restored. Thanks for your patience.

Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES) was unexpectedly not working for most of the day and was recovered at approximately 5:50 pm.

Dear Colleagues:

As part of the construction work necessary to create a Core Research Computing Facility (NIH "G20" ARRA grant) in the University Computer Center, we are required to shut down the cooling system on SATURDAY AUGUST 18th, 2012 (6am-midnight) so that necessary construction work can be done. This will necessitate shutting down many IT systems in the Data Center.

The following services will remain available:

  • Internet: Network Core, DNS, DHCP, F5, CSM load balancing

  • Email: Exchange 2010, CubMail (for some but not all users), LionMail, Blackberry (BES) service. Some mail will be queued for later delivery.

  • Telephones: Basic Rolm and NetPhone service, Interactive Intelligence

  • File Shares: Central

  • ServiceNow

  • Authentication & Authorization Services: Kerberos, LDAP, WIND, CAS, Shibboleth, Radius, Active Directory, Lenel Access Control

  • Libraries: CLIO, some electronic resources

Services not listed above will not be available. Furthermore, emergency shutdown of some or all of the above-listed services may be required should there be unforseen issues with the temporary cooling system being employed.

CUIT apologizes for the inconvenience.
