    A configuration error caused a disruption to the Morningside Heights campus wireless network between approximately 2:10 and 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. CUIT has corrected the error and normal wireless service has been restored.

    UPDATE: Service has been restored as of 3:13pm. Outage was due to a defective electrical outlet.

     

    There is currently a network outage affecting users in the Employment Information Center at 3180 Broadway.

    Technicians are investigating.

    The CUIT Help Desk will be observing truncated hours of service during this holiday weekend, starting Wednesday 11/24 through Saturday 11/27.  The Help Desk will return to standard service hours on Sunday 11/28. 

     

    Wednesday 11/24: 8am-3pm [Early close]

    Thursday 11/25: CLOSED

    Friday 11/26: CLOSED

    Saturday 11/27: CLOSED

    Solutions to common issues and questions can be found through http://askcuit.columbia.edu.   Issues can also be reported through askcuit@columbia.edu.  If you believe a service outage is affecting multiple clients, please call 4-1919 and listen for the option to page a systems administrator.  

    We will respond to issues as quickly as we can, in the order in which they're received, upon our return to standard hours of service.

    Facilities has scheduled an electrical shutdown for the Studebaker building between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 20th. Power will be interrupted twice in our network closets. Each interruption should last approximately 15 minutes.

    CUIT network equipment should seamlessly switch to UPS power during these brief electrical outages. Therefore, network connectivity should not be affected.

    The purpose of this electrical maintenance is to remedy low voltage readings on the switchgear transformers.
