    Between approximately 12am and 12:40am, 4 of the 10 Courseworks web servers stopped responding to web requests.  Users connected to any of the 4 affected hosts would have been prompted to log back into Courseworks at the time of the problem.

    Users connected to any of the 6 unaffected hosts would not have noticed a problem.

    Due to a software error, the Cyrus email servers rejected POP3 email connections between 9:13pm - 10:13pm.  Approximately 425 POP3 users received connection errors during this time (including automated devices like gmail and cell phones).

    Users connecting via IMAP were not affected by this problem.

    The wired network connectivity to the Columbia Off-Campus Housing Assistance Office (OCHA) at 419 W 119th St is degraded.

    CUIT technicians are currently working to resolve the issue.

    Update 10/1/2008 at 4:17pm:

    Connectivity is back to normal now.  We are still investigating.

    To apply the latest vendor provided security and bug fixes, and replace failing memory,  NetPhone presence server will be unavailable today Monday, September 29th 2008, from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. 

    Update is being applied to the presence server which provides Bridged Line Appearance (BLA) functionality for the NetPhone service. This function indicates when a shared line is in use on another phone.
    This change should have no impact on regular NetPhone service. However, Netphone users configured for BLA might notice their indicator light not appear. The indicator light should re-appear within an hour of the change.

    CUIT apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but this action is necessary to ensure a more reliable service.  If clients continue to experience issues after the service-interruption hours, please contact the CUIT Helpdesk at:
