  • CUNIX Web Servers

    Starting early this morning, the main Columbia homepage was being served by our backup provider due to problems on our own web servers.  As a result of that, some customers have been unable to view the main Columbia page at different times through the morning. The majority of customers unable to view the main Columbia web-pages are off-campus customers. Some problems with our servers have been corrected, but there are still intermittent on-going service problems and the system administrators are still investigating.
  • Telephony - Rolm Phonemail Support

    A PhoneMail storage drive suffered a mechanical failure during scheduled hardware maintenance aimed at replacing the ailing drive. As a result, voice files stored on the drive were unrecoverable.

    Users in the following locations may encounter unplayable messages and are advised to delete them. In some instances users may also have to re-record their PhoneMail greetings. CUIT sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience this may have caused.

    Affected Locations:

    210 W. 104th st., 212 W. 104, 514 W. 113th st., 600 W. 116th st., 601 W. 110th st., CEPSR – Schapiro, College Residence Hall, Commuter Mailboxes, Engineering Terrace, Fairchild, Hartley Hall, Hewitt, Hogan and Mudd.

  • Network - Ethernet and Wireless

    NYSERNet, our Internet2 ISP, will be configuring a new backbone connection between New York City and Buffalo this Wednesday 7/1/09 at 6:00 AM.  This change will cause Internet2 traffic to re-route over the new connection.  Users may experience some network slowness during this time.

    CUIT is performing necessary maintenance on this service. This scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed on-time.

    During the scheduled time of this Service Alert, clients on the Morningside campus will lose access to the phonemail system.

  • People At Columbia (PAC)

    HR is performing necessary maintenance on the PAC (People @ Columbia) system starting Friday, June 26th 5pm.   This scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed on-time by late Monday, June 29th.

    During the scheduled time of this Service Alert, clients may experience an inability to view, print or edit the following functions:

    Paystubs, W-2s, personal information, direct deposit information.

    The CU Online Benefits Enrollment system will remain fully available during this maintenance period.
