    Starting Thursday, January 15th, 2009, the CUIT Helpdesk Support Center (formerly known as the Client Service Center) will be located in 202 Philosophy Hall - right upstairs from its previous location.   The CUIT Helpdesk Support Center will be closed all day on Wednesday, January 14th, to accommodate the necessary move.  For assistance on January 14th please contact the CUIT Helpdesk at 212-854-1919, visit http://www.columbia.edu/cuit/support or email askcuit@columbia.edu. 

    Hours of operation remain the same:  Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

    On January 13th, from 7pm to 8pm EST, one of the Cyrus email backend servers must be powered down to replace important hardware.   During this time, approximately 2,700 (out of 80,000) Cyrus email accounts will be unavailable.   Affected clients may experience a login failure, an empty inbox, or an inbox with only new messages.   No mail is expected to be lost.  We apologize for this outage, but this procedure is critical to the continued maintenance of the server and its email accounts.

  • Student Services On-Line (SSOL)

    Due to high customer volume some customers are experiencing long delays in accessing the SSOL web-pages. The system administrators are working to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.

    We regret the inconvenience this might cause to our customers.

     UPDATE:  Heavy use has subsided, and service has restored to normal.

  • Telephony - NetPhone

    To apply the latest vendor provided security and bug fixes,  CUIT NetPhone service will be updated tomorrow, Monday, January 12, 2009  from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

    This change should have no impact on regular NetPhone service.

    However, NetPhone users configured for BLA might notice that their indicator light does not appear.

    The indicator light should re-appear within an hour of the change.

  • ECRT (Effort Reporting)

    On Monday, January 12th, between 7pm and 8pm EST, the main ECRT server will be powered down forl hardware maintenance.   During this time, clients will be unable to login to ECRT.
