    We scheduled the following time window to perform maintenance on the CEPSR network:

    Thursday December 30th 2010, 8:15AM - 8:45AM

    During this maintenance, some users on the 5th and 6th floors will lose nework connectivity.

    CUIT apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but this action is necessary to ensure a more reliable service.  If clients continue to experience issues after the service-interruption hours, please contact the CUIT Helpdesk at:

    We scheduled the following window to perform maintenance on our connection to Nysernet which connects us with research and education institutions, and with Internet2.

    Wednesday 12/29/2010 8am - 8:30am

    In this maintenance, we will increase the bandwidth on that connection from 270Mbps to 1,000Mbps.

    We expect this maintenance will not disrupt user traffic.

    Update:

    Service was restored on Sunday December 26, 2010 at 2:30pm. Problem was due to Facilities' electrical outlets losing power. Our equipment is now on temporary power provided by Facilities.

    Original Service Alert:

    There is currently a network outage affecting floors 6-8 in CEPSR.  Technicians are investigating the problem.  We are not able say at this time how long the outage will last as the cause has not been ascertained.

    The CUIT Help Desk will be closing Thursday, December 23rd, at 5pm EST for the holiday weekend and will re-open for standard service hours on Tuesday, December 28th at 8am.  The Helpdesk Support Center at 202 Philosophy will be closing at 4pm, and reopen on Tuesday 12/28 at 10am.

    For the New Years weekend, the Helpdesk will be closing Thursday  December 30th, at 5pm.  The Helpdesk Support Center will close at 4pm.   Both will reopen on Tuesday, January 4th for standard service hours.

    We scheduled the following time window to perform maintenance on the network at 530 West 112th street. The maintenance is to replace a failing UPS which serves the network switch in that building.

    Monday, December 20, 2010, 9am - 9:45am

    During the maintenance, the building will be without network connectivity.
