    Update: Level3 has informed CUIT that the outage was caused by a fiber cut. They have installed a temporary fiber span, clearing all alarms and returning services to a stable state. Maintenance will be scheduled in the near future to install a permanent repair to the damaged span. Service impact has concluded.

    Beginning at approximately 2pm, the secondary (backup) link between campus and the Syracuse Datacenter became unavailable. CUIT is currently working with Level3, the network services provider responsible for this circuit, to determine a cause.

    As this is the secondary link, no Syracuse Datacenter services are currently being affected.

    Con Ed is performing electrical maintenance at JLGSC/MBBI (Jerome L. Greene Science Center / Mind Brain Behavior Institute), CEP (Central Energy Plant) and Lenfest Center of the Arts; maintenance is expected to begin at 7:00am on Saturday 6/3, and be completed by 9:00pm on Sunday 6/4.

    All CUIT network equipment at these locations are connected to redundant power, so no loss of connectivity is anticipated.
