    CUIT is performing network maintenance in John Jay on Tuesday June 12th, from 8:00am until 8:50am.  This scheduled update is expected to be completed on time, and no service interruption is anticipated.

    UPDATE: This maintenance has been completed successfully. 

     

    On Monday, June 11th between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, CUIT will be performing necessary network maintenance in multiple IRE buildings. This scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed on-time.

     

    During the scheduled time of this Service Alert, clients in following buildings:

     

    601 West 113th Street

    90 Morningside Drive

    2828 Broadway

    435 West 119th Street

    501 West 121th Street 

    507 West 113th Street

    511 West 112th Street

    514 West 114th Street

    519 West 121th Street

    527 West 121th Street

    610 West 115th Street

    629 West 115th Street

     

    may experience up to an hour loss of network connectivity for wired, wireless and netphone.

    UPDATE: After extensive fiber repairs by the vendor, this backup network connection to Syracuse has been restored as of 5:30am.

     

    Beginning approximately 1:10pm, the backup network connection to the Syracuse DataCenter became unavailable due to a fiber cut in NYC. The ISP (Level3) Engineers have been notified and are currently working to resolve the issue.  The primary network connection to Syracuse is up and operational.

    UPDATE 3: The primary network uplink for the buildings listed below was brought back into production yesterday afternoon and has remained stable.  We will continue to monitor.

     

    UPDATE 2: Around 9:30pm, errors returned on the primary uplink for the buildings listed below, so the uplink has been shut and network connectivity was forced over to the backup connection.  Users at these buildings may have experienced a brief loss of connectivity during failover. 

     

    UPDATE: We will continue to monitor the concentrator for any additional errors. 

    Beginning 11:20am, Wired and Wireless Network connectivity for the buildings listed below became temporarily unavailable due to errors on the concentrator. Network Connectivity failed over to the redundant uplink during the time of errors.  Services were restored over the primary uplink at approximately 12:10pm.  CUIT administrators are currently working to identify the cause.
