    Cogent, our primary Internet provider, is performing network maintenance on Friday January 20th, from 12:00am (midnight) until 6:00am.

    During the maintenance window Internet traffic will be automatically routed over our backup Internet connection, so no loss of network connectivity is expected.  However, users may experience brief periods of slowness during failover to the backup connection.

    Earlier today CUIT was notifified that mail was not being delivered between nyp.org and columbia.edu.  CUIT worked with the appropriate email administrators to correct the situation.  Messages were queued on the messaging systems and should be delivered shortly.

    The approximate time of this issue was 10 am to 5 pm.

    Due to an issue regarding PawPrint's Print Center web application, there was a service disruption for PawPrint users on 1/18/2017 from approximately 8:00-8:30PM.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    System administrators do not expect any further disruption in service, but will be monitoring the situation closely and will provide any update(s) as needed.

    Beginning at 9:50am Rascal was restarted to resolve performance issues.  It was back up at 9:52am.

    Facilities is performing a monthly test of their power systems at MBBI (Mind Brain Behavior Institute) and CEP (Central Engery Plant), on Wednesday January 18th, from 7:00am until 8:00am.

    All CUIT network equipment, at both of these locations, are connected to redundant power, so no loss of connectivity is anticipated.
