    Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT) continually strives to maintain the highest levels of server reliability, security, and stability. To this end, CUIT will perform necessary maintenance on the servers used by Drupal powered websites and applications during the morning of Sunday, September 23rd.

    Owners of CUIT-provided websites and applications should refrain from making any changes to their sites or application during the following window:

    10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23rd

    Websites and applications may experience downtime during a portion of the maintenance period. We aim to make this period as short as possible.

  • Network - Wireless

    Beginning at ~1:37 PM, wireless service was unavailable to some users due to high utilization on a piece network equipment servicing wireless users.

    This issue has been corrected and service restoration began immediately.

    All users should have reconnected to wireless within ~5-10 minutes.

    CUIT is performing network maintenance at 560 Riverside Drive on Friday September 21st, from 10:00am until 10:50am. This scheduled update is expected to be completed on time, and no service interruption is anticipated.

    Due to a secure print service failure on print server 2, the PawPrint service experienced a service degradation on September 20th, 2018 at approximately 4:00PM. System adminstrators responded and restored all services by approximately 4:15PM.

    We apologize for any inconvenience and CUIT system administrators will continue to monitor and provide any necessary updates.

    ****** Update: This task has been successfully completed.

    On Thursday, September 20, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, CUIT will be rolling out essential security features on our network switches serving the following buildings:

    Hartley Hall;

    SIC Residences;

    Hogan Hall;

    McBain Hall;

    These updates require end devices such as servers, workstations, printers, access points; etc., to automatically obtain IP addresses via DHCP. Devices that are configured with static (hard coded) IP addresses must change TCP/IP address settings to DHCP, otherwise the network switch will drop all traffic from these devices. Please identify any end devices that are configured with static IP addresses and make the required change(s) to DHCP. This scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed on-time.
