  • Network - Ethernet and Wireless

    On 08/20/2014 between 4am and 8am CUIT will be performing necessary network maintenance which will affect multiple buildings. During portions of this service window, all network services will be unavailable (this includes wired, wireless, and netphones) in the following buildings:

    Singularly Uplinked Admin Buildings or Schools

    3 Claremont

    80 Claremont

    Chandler

    Dodge Gym

    Dodge Hall

    Earl Hall

    Havemeyer

    Lewisohn

    Math

    Pupin

    Union Theological Seminary - Burke Library

    Uris - Watson Library

     

    Dually Uplinked Admin Buildings or Schools:

    Computer Center Administration ( This does not affect the Data Center)

    ISSO

    Low Library

    Knox

    North West Corner Building

    Riverside Church


    The goal of this maintenance is to replace and upgrade legacy network equipment in order to maintain quality, state of the art network services.

    Update: This maintenance has been successfully completed ahead of schedule.
    On Monday, August 18th between 07:00AM and 10:00AM, CUIT will be performing necessary maintenance on the Wireless Network. This scheduled maintenance is expected to be completed on-time. 

    There will be brief intermittent wireless connectivity outages throughout the defined window.  Wireless users will be affected on Morningside Campus and surrounding areas, Baker Field, 33 W. 60th and 729 7th Ave.

    CUIT apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, but this action is necessary to ensure a more reliable service.  If clients continue to experience issues after the service-interruption hours, please contact the CUIT Helpdesk at:

    UPDATE 6:13PM - The issue has been resolved. All services are operational again.

  • F5 Load Balancer

    UPDATE: This maintenance was completed at 9:45AM without incident. 

     CUIT will perform F5 LTM Load Balancer maintenance on Sunday, August 17th from 8am to 10am. During this maintenance the F5 LTM software will be patched and system failover will be tested.

    Disruption to most applications is expected to be minimal. For web applications, users may receive a momentary error and need to reload the page. Applications that depend on persistent connections may experience additional disruption.

    Please contact your service support teams if you are concerned about the impact on your sites or 
applications.

    Services that depend on the F5 LTM network load balancer include the following:

    CAS and Shibboleth Authentication -- including UNI login to Lionmail, ServiceNow, Rascal and many other applications and services
